Autumn Lester has always believed in standing up for what’s right—even from a young age. In elementary school, she organized a student petition to make a small but meaningful change in her community, an early sign of the determination and advocacy that still drive her today.

She grew up in Chenango County, where she experienced firsthand the challenges many families face. After her parents separated, her family relied on community support, including school food drives.

Those experiences shaped her understanding of how important strong, supportive communities are, and why access to resources matters.

In 2019, Autumn moved to Broome County to attend Broome Community College, where she studied Human Services. During this time, she became more deeply involved in advocacy and community work, driven by a desire to create meaningful change at the local level.

Autumn has volunteered with organizations like Citizen Action of New York and worked as a canvasser to help bring new leadership to the region. Through this work, she has connected with residents, listened to their concerns, and seen firsthand the issues facing the community.

Today, Autumn is running for Broome County Legislature to make the community more affordable, more accountable, and a place where people can build a future.

Her approach is simple: listen to residents, fight for practical solutions, and never lose sight of the people she represents.
